Research Library

Browse the AI Safety Council's growing library of research on AI safety, risk management and incident investigation in occupational health, safety and environmental contexts.

The Research Library is where the AI Safety Council tracks the evidence base behind its certifications — the studies, standards work and incident data that shape what a competent AI-in-safety professional needs to know.

What we curate

Rather than duplicating primary research, the Library indexes and summarises the material most relevant to AI used in occupational health, safety, environment and risk management: peer-reviewed studies on human-AI interaction and automation complacency, standards-body technical reports (ISO, IEC, NIST), regulator guidance, and post-incident analyses where an AI or automated system was a contributing factor.

Why it matters for certification

Competency-based certification only stays credible if the competencies it tests are grounded in current evidence, not just theory. As research on AI failure modes, oversight effectiveness and governance practice develops, it feeds directly into how the AISP, AIRP and AIIP syllabi are maintained and updated.
